Mrs. North Dakota International Pageant
The Mrs. International system has been developed to celebrate today’s married women, their accomplishments, and commitment to family and marriage. We showcase the family unit, we encourage work with charitable organizations through volunteerism and we promote a positive look at marriage.
Beginning 20 years ago, Mrs. International was developed to have higher standards than other pageant systems. It was created to celebrate the married women. This pageant strives to recognize her devotion to her family, her professional life in or outside of the home and her community. Each delegate is asked to present a platform issue which will be the focus of her year of service as Mrs. North Dakota International®. Our scoring system places the majority of points on the interview process and platform issue, forcing the final choice to be based on achievement, purpose and her ability to be a role model and to represent us all at the state, national and international level.
The Mrs. International Pageant System is for married women ages 21 to 56, married at least 6 months and a resident of our state. Each contestant competes in Interview, which is valued at 50% of her overall score, Evening Gown, valued at 25% and Fitness Wear valued at 25%. Each contestant has the opportunity to select a platform of her choice that she spends the year promoting. Husbands are a direct part of the show, escorting their wives in the Evening Gown competition, and it is the husband who places the crown on his winning wife’s head.
We work hard to make this an unforgettable experience for you. Our goal is never to just get a winner but to help you grow as an individual. There will be hard work the weekend of the event with rehearsals and learning new things, but the end result will be the crowning of a new Mrs. North Dakota International®. The winner has a chance at a national title, as she will compete at the next level, that being the Mrs. International® Pageant. And if you’re wondering just who might win this pageant, let us tell you that in the 14 years that we have served as state directors, we have had a range of ages for our winners, the youngest being 26 and the oldest was 50 when she won the title. Actually, we’ve had winners from every decade. There are career women and homemakers. We have had 3 state winners who were not mothers, one who was the mother of 5 children, and one who was a grandmother of 3. Don’t worry about fitting in, because you will. It is truly the woman behind the crown, and each year that woman will be different. There is no cookie cutter image for Mrs. North Dakota International®.
